During the last quarter of 2013 ALES introduced the “step change to EHS excellence” program. The program aims to improve the safety culture of the organisation into an environment whereby our employees are empowered to feel responsible for not only their own safety but that of others.

The “step change to EHS excellence” program has been a fantastic success story which has seen a new much improved sense of empowerment throughout the organisation. This has resulted in wide scale improvements, not only in excellence, empowerment and attitude, but also responsibility and safety with Lost Time Injuries (LTI) at an all-time low seeking that ZERO accident number.

This hard work and driven safety ethic has seen 4.000,000 plus hours of work being completed without an LTI and the awarding of not one but two Gold Awards from RoSPA. The first is for the Safety Management System (SMS) and the second for the Management of Road Risk (MORR).

Al Jaber Leasing Services receives RoSPA Awards

Abu Dhabi – June 2015 -- Al Jaber Leasing Services (ALES), a member of Al Jaber Group, has been recognised for their commitment to safety at the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Award 2015. Al Jaber Leasing Services (ALES) on their first submission have attained a Gold award in two prestigious safety categories, Safety Management Systems and Management of Occupational Road Risk. ALES are the first and only Leasing Company to have received both these awards in the UAE.

As the UK’s family safety charity, RoSPA’s mission is to save lives and reduce injuries across all ages and stages of life. In support of this mission, the RoSPA Awards, which date back 59 years, recognise commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work. Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Mr. Saher Hamd, Executive Director of Al Jaber Leasing Services said: “Ever since the commencement of Al Jaber Group, health and safety are priorities of our Chairman and Board Members. At ALES we exert noticeable effort to maintain the highest health and safe standards and procedures. We are proud to be the first and only leasing company in the UAE to have won these two prestigious awards and are committed to enhancing our health and safety policies and processes”.

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA Awards encourage improvement in occupational health and safety management. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as Al Jaber Leasing Services, contribute to raising standards overall and we congratulate them.  Awards are presented in more than 20 industry sectors, and they also recognise excellence in specialist areas, such as the management of occupational road risk (MORR), an award that Al Jaber Leasing Services was also a Gold Award winner in and again we congratulate them.”

The Gold award in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) will be presented during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on July 15 2015.
The majority of RoSPA’s awards grade achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Organisations that maintain high standards in consecutive years can win gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction.
